Re-Shoot/Re-Edit

During the duration of our filming, we filmed all the scenes and pieces of the music video to fit the sections of the song. After we had filmed everything on our first day of filming, we went over it all and looked back at it and started the editing process. We noticed we needed more footage of the garage scene and therefore we had to go back and film more footage of the garage scenes. We started filming on 16th October and had to return to the garage and film more garage footage on the 19th.
After we had all the garage scenes and enough footage, we then went on to filming the storyline scenes in the woods on the 27th October. We then started filming on the 29th October the junk yard scenes of the band playing. Fortunate for use, we filmed a lot of footage there and we didn’t have to go back and film more footage there.
At this point we were editing our video and we were putting it all in place and all together. We thought we had enough footage of everything but then realised we needed to fit in some big gaps of the storyline scenes in the woods. We looked back at all the scenes we had and realised that we didn’t have any footage of Joseph in the storyline scenes and decided that in order for us to complete our music video; we had had to go back and re shoot some footage of us in the storyline scenes. We then returned to the woods on the 6th November to re-shoot the remaining scenes that we needed for the storyline scenes. These scenes included the group chasing Craig and extra scenes of Joseph. After we had the extra scenes we went back to editing the video and we had finally had all the required scenes and we had filled in al the time gaps in the video. We then had to edit all the scenes in but, as we had new storyline scenes, we had to take some of the old scenes out, and replace them with new scenes as they were more suitable and more efficient.

After we had finished editing the video we came up with some ideas and decided to make some alterations. We first decided that we wanted an extended start and finish to the music video and came up with the idea of having Craig on the computer falling asleep and then entering a dream sequence. We then had to film the scenes of Craig on the computer and so we did this on the 19th November at our school. After we had done these scenes we then edited them in to the video and we were satisfied with the result of the music video. We then finally went over and did some last minute editing by adding in affects such as the blur tool and cross fade in between scenes.

After we had finished we then noticed one scene where it was just before the ending of the video of Craig. We noticed that it didn’t go well with the video and we had to change it. So we had to go back to the woods to re-shoot that last scene on the 26th November. We filmed the last shot and went back to edit it into the video. After finishing editing in the last shot we looked over the video one last time to make sure that everything was in place and we then noticed that three scenes were slightly out of time and so our final bit of editing was to rectify the timing problem. Once we finished that we were finally finished with the music video and everything was in place.
