Reasons For These Albums
We looked at these album covers as they were all in the genre of rock/metal. We wanted to know what sort of CD album we should create and therefore did some research. We chose these albums as they had a rough idea of what we wanted our album to be like. The coloures that are used in these albums are mostly dark, greay and powerful coloures, assisting them with either artwork as the album cover, or photos of the band either playing their instruments, or posing. However, for our album cover we wanted a bit of both of artwork and of the band and therefore we researched both types of albums. However, another reason why we researched and studied and took ideas from these albums was due to the artists beiing rock/metal bands and having the same sort of music to the music in my music video. Alot of these albums focus mainly on the dark colours and sets (Backgrounds/locations) and this was roughly what we wanted to do with our album cover.

Target Audience: Kurt Runnergez

This is Kurt Runnergez, he is 19 years old and is currently in his 1st year of University at the University of Newcastle in the UK. Kurt studies Media Production and Editing which he is very fond of. Kurt was attracted to the world of media, especially music from the age of 7 where he first learnt how to play the electric guitar. Since then Kurt has been interested in many different media forms but at the same time, he has been focusing majorly on the music industry. Kurt has sole and passion for rock music as he feels that many of the songs from that genre have very meaningful and spiritual meanings that he feels that he can relate to. His favourite genre of music is “Metal”; however, Kurt is a big fan of all rock music. Through his inspiration, at age 13 Kurt started his own band where he and his band attended daily band practice where they focused on learning and playing cover songs of previous songs from their favourite’s bands and artist. Kurt and his friends were heavily influenced and focused a lot of their band practice on learning songs from metal bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Bullet For My Valentine and Disturbed. When reaching the age of 16, Kurt decided to start writing his own material which soon led him producing his own album that got quickly recognised in the Metal genre but unfortunately was overpowered by competing and wealthier bands.
When he isn’t playing music or doing University work, Kurt enjoys to attend gig’s, festivals and rock concerts that he and his band members/friends enjoy going to. Kurt enjoys anything Metal or music related and due to his strong passion about music, he tries to be part of music and be like his hero’s who are Ozzy Osborne, Dave Mustain and Alice Cooper. Apart from being stared at his extreme 80’s hairstyle, Kurt loves the way he feels about his look and loves his hobbies, beliefs and life ambitions.
When music and University is put to side, Kurt loves to just sit back and relax by playing Playstation and watching television. His favourite programme that he cannot miss is Miami Ink and Topgear. His favourite film that he marks as the pinnacle of action films is Enter the Dragon, Kurt feels that this movie not only has hardcore action in it, but also has a spiritual meaning to it. When not watching films, Kurt likes to sit in bed and put his mind to rest by reading novels and is a big fan of Ernest Hemmingway.
Kurt believes that he can achieve greatness by the start of an idea. He also believes in himself and thinks that he can do whatever if he puts his mind to it. Kurt does what he feels that makes him feel good and his dress sense is one of them, he enjoys wearing the typical metal look with sleeveless shirts and ripped jeans however, Kurt has a fondness for the punk look. From the age of 18, Kurt as 2 tattoos, one on his left arm of a crucifix and one on the centre of his back of a green dragon shooting black ice from his mouth.
Mood Boards

All these pictures that i have selected are from bands and artists from the Rock/Metal genre. As you can see, the majority of the bands and artists have extremly long hair and all pose or play in an aggressive style. This is due to the genre of Rock/Metal having a very dark and aggressive nature to it. The dress code or outfits that is most commonly seen and worn amonst these bands and artists are black, sleevless shirts, ripped jeans and sometimes chains with medallions and crusifx's on them. Some bands and artists wear out-standing clothing to express their feelings as well as their music styles. These are the main elements that will be in my music video in order to make the video as "Metal" as possible. Sleevless shirts along with ripped jeans will be worn in order to potrey as a real "Metal" band and/or artist.
As you can also see in the pictures, all band members/artists show great enphasis in their work whether its playing their instrument, sing or posing for photos. This shows alot of passion from these artists that they have for the Rock/Metal genre.
